Biography

I was born and raised in Alice. I earned a B.S. degree in Elem. Education from the University of Texas at Austin and a M.S. degree in Education from Texas A & I University (now Texas A&M- Kingsville).

After graduating from UT, I returned to Alice and began my teaching career. I started working in the Migrant Program in 1980. In January of 1982, I had my first permanent classroom--5th grade at Schallert Elementary. I taught elementary school for 25 years teaching 5th, 3rd, 2nd, and 4th grades.

2009-2010 begins my fifth year as Instructional Technology Coordinator  for AISD and 30th year in education! My job allows me to work with teachers and aide them in using technology in lessons and in student projects. I do lots of workshops for elementary teachers and occasionally can help those teachers out by introducing lessons in the lab. When I am not working, I enjoy watching movies, visiting with friends, and playing clarinet in the Corpus Christi Wind Symphony.
